Considering the violence and invisibility that affects women in different social contexts, demands for new gender relations are urgent. It is common to find traces of old dogmas and stereotypes in libertarian spaces that confront the system, such is the case of the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terra (MST). The women of MST finds two great obstacles in her militancy: (1) the agribusiness that puts her as a no-land worker and that limits the whole issue as a social class conflict; and (2) her own companions, whom in different level oppress these women inside the movement regarding the patriarchal structure that still dribbles. In order to analyze social representation of MST‟s women in the movement‟s journal, called “Jornal Sem Terra”, we used the Critical Discourse Analysis to understand how these representations are constructed from the communication practice that ends up dialoging with all the movement (political bases, settlements and encampment) and in which new social relations are proposed. We show evidence that women are still linked to the familiar institution, a concept historically stained by conservatism. Furthermore, we realize the importance that holds in women occupying media spaces in order to depoliticize the gender debate and that they continue to be present in the symbolic negotiations spaces and actives on the political field of the movement.
