O gestor educacional e o projeto político-pedagógico: um estudo sobre a gestão democrática

This research aims at analyzing the management procedures of a public school, located in the countryside of Candelária/RS. This study focuses on the analysis of the relationship between the scholar documents and their implementation by the management team to transform the educational context in a more democratic environment. In addition, the managers‟ skills, attitudes and practices are also analyzed in this research. In order to carry on this study, a qualitative research was developed based on a questionnaire answered by the principal, the vice-principal and the supervisor. In the manager‟s documents and answers it was verified that there is a constant effort to improve the practices to promote actions that seek integration and bring, especially, the parents segment to the educational system, being that seen as a big challenge in the Political Pedagogical Project as well as in the managers‟ questionnaire replies. It was identified that the democratic management is an achievement/process that requires time, strategies and determination. It was possible to conclude that, despite the difficulty of putting into practice the principles of democratic management, the management team seeks to promote actions that permit the participation of the school segments, because managers believe that this is the main way to improve the teaching quality and provide students with a more complete formation.
