Sensibilização de jovens para o consumo consciente utilizando a pesquisa como ferramenta de educação ambiental

Abstract

Achieving youth awareness on environmental issues in a society bombarded daily for compulsive consumption is nothing simplistic task. For that we need to develop work methods enabling human beings to understand that their choices affect the environment to which it belongs and needs. This study presents the application of a methodology focused on the research, which has the intention to sensitize the youth for conscious consumption. When considering the essential knowledge for a critical purchase on environmental issues, the student is asked to build a product's life cycle, seeking data on the impacts generated in the production and disposal of this commodity chosen for the development of the work. The research was guided by an open constructive questionnaire, where questions, mediated by the teacher, the students moved in search of answers, and therefore, was considered by students challenging, with an understanding of the intent of the work plan by the students. Young people increased how to view a purchase, understanding it as beyond the act of consuming, signaling a reflection on future choices.
