Resumen
Introduction: The Brazilian demographic profile has changed over the years, through frequent changes related to urbanization and technological advances, and the largest population exposure to risk factors themselves today. Cancer - set of over 100 different types of diseases that have in common the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells - is one of those factors. Information from cancer registries supply information systems, which in turn result in estimates, research, epidemiological studies, sources of health plannin. Objective: To associate the risk factors with the most prevalent types of cancer in a hospital accredited as Assistance Unit High Complexity in Oncology from your Hospital Cancer Registry. Method: quantitative, analytical study based on secondary data from a Health Information System / Hospital Cancer Registry, covering the period 2010-2011. Descriptive analysis of variables was performed. Results: 865 analytic cases were analyzed. Of the total sample , 318 ( 30 % ) of subjects had Breast Cancer, 260 ( 24 % ) Cancer of Hematopoietic and Reticuloendothelial System , 176 ( 17 % ) Prostate cancer and 111 ( 10 % ) lung cancer and bronchi . Evidenced the great majority of cases of breast cancer among white women, with a significant percentage of family history of cancer, having more education. For cancers of the prostate, lung and bronchus there was a prevalence among white men with less education. In the hematopoietic and reticuloendothelial system drew attention to the high rate of missing information in most of the variables that characterize them, as well as other cancers to a lesser extent, a condition that hindered the desired association. Conclusion: We emphasize the consistency of the association found in this study with the literature, and the importance of a complete record and quality of information the registration / entry of the subject in a cancer care unit to the result of the treatment. It is important to make proper use of the Record Sheet Tumor, source of information that feeds Systems Hospital Records instrument, so you can develop research which, in turn, contribute to the proposition of public health policy and planning and implementation. Points out the need for ongoing training of team working in the Hospital Cancer Registry, and other workers responsible for recording information in medical records ( Reception to specialist care ) .
