dc.description.abstractThis research aims to analyze how was the implementation of the Polytechnic School in a state school in the city of Palmeira das Missions / RS. It is a case study of qualitative approach, analyzing and interpreting as school managers, represented in this survey in the figure of coordinating education and teachers, realize the limits and possibilities in implementing the polytechnic proposal, along the way how students perceive. For this, it is to present the relationship between education and work, involving the Polytechnic High School and their theoretical perspectives to the reconfiguration of the identity of high school. In order to contemplate the objective proposed in this study, we sought to endorse authors such as Almeida (2013), Moreira (2011), Ferreira (2004), Santos (2013), Saviani (2003), as well as other authors that address the theme of this work. As a result, it is emphasized that there were lots of the difficulties faced by the institution to implement this type of education, especially in relation to the workload of teachers, educational institution structure and evaluative methodology. However, even with such great adversity, the school and its managers seek to develop quality work, based on democratic management to the quality of public education. By reference to the results obtained, it appears that what is at issue, therefore, is not the proposal itself of Further education, but the conditions of its implementation.
