Resumen
The present work was developed with the objective of understanding the impact of the corona effect on the Brazilian electrical system. For this purpose, the documents of the PET - Transmission Expansion Program of the EPE – Energy Research Company website were used for this purpose, which have a determinative character covering a horizon of six years and include the transmission facilities not yet tendered or authorized, recommended to start operations in the next six years, in order to subsidize the MME in the prioritization of transmission facilities that will integrate the lots to be offered in future transmission auctions. In addition, it is an important signal for sector agents and suppliers of investments to be carried out in the coming years with an indicative character and contemplates the facilities recommended to start operating from the seventh year. Thus, transmission lines have the purpose of transporting good quality electricity with the highest efficiency, while at the same time minimizing possible ecological and social impacts, especially corona losses, which is responsible for high unnecessary expenses. Due to studies in the area, we know that the corona effect is directly related to the number of conductors per phase and with voltage ranges from 230 kV. In view of this, a survey of the Brazilian electrical scenario focusing on Transmission Lines - 230 kV Transmission Lines containing 1 strand / phase of type 636 MCM - 26/7 (Grosbeak), which is the more susceptible to large corona losses. In addition, 153 sections were found, including sectioning, retraining of lines and the construction of new lines, with a total length of 8.273,9 kilometers divided by the five regions of the country. Finally, a proposal is presented to improve the configuration of LTs of this type in order to mitigate the Corona effect, taking into account the type of cable most suitable and the arrangement of the phases that make up the circuit.
