dc.description.abstract | The dyslexia is a reading specific disorder, of linguistic order, which affects mainly
to read by phonological route, damaging the reading of new words and non-words. In recent
years, relations between the phonological awareness and the literacy, as well as with dyslexia,
has been the subject or research with different approaches.
The purpose in this work was to review the specific literature in search of
information that relate phonological awareness and dyslexia and as a way to deepen academic
and professional knowledge on the subject.
They were researched aspects about the normal acquisition of the written code,
definitions about phonological awareness, its relations with dyslexia and also diagnosis and
intervention of reading specific disorder.
At the end of this review, it was concluded that there is no consensus in the literature
about the definition of dyslexia, and whether or not there are factors associated with it.
Moreover, the deficit in phonological awareness seems to make as a main indicator in the
diagnosis of dyslexia, requiring specific interventions to the development of skills in
phonological awareness. | |
