Participação das mulheres e produção de auto-sustento no fortalecimento da agricultura camponesa em assentamentos de Nova Santa Rita (RS)

Abstract

From the understanding that family farmers are those with access to land and natural resources that it supports and seeking to solve their reproductive problems from agricultural activities, making no difference between the universe of those who decide on the allocation of the work of those who survive with the outcome of allocation, does not therefore a separation between production and consumption. With that said, this study sought to understand the participation of women in agriculture and in some settlements of Agrarian Reform in Nova Santa Rita / RS, with pointed elements of resistance and identified the main motivations that lead women to participate in collective spaces (workshops, meetings, seminars, etc.). In addition, we reflect on aspects that involve the cultivation toward self-reliance anddiversification of production practiced by women, and how these practices deny the capitalist agriculture in everyday action and reaffirm family farming, despite the challenges and contradictions arising from monopolistic influence of society today.
