dc.description.abstractThe study aimed to verify the risk percentage of developing a cardiovascular event (ECV) in ten years with users of the Basic Health Unit Walter Aita, Santa Maria / RS who reported having systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) and / or Diabetes Mellitus (DM). This is a descriptive qualitative research. Were part of this study, subjects diagnosed with or that of hypertension disease and / or diabetes and which framed up in the inclusion criteria. For the study we used the history and the score of Framingham, which evaluates the probability of a cardiovascular event and systematic observation while conducting home visits. The evaluation of the data began with the descriptive analysis, it is possible to recognize the profile of respondents. Overall, all presented low risk of developing a cardiovascular event, taking continuous medication and report having adequate food. It stressed that the home visits and health education activities in primary care are extremely valuable. It was noted the importance of health professionals are performing these interventions and empowering those responsible for changes, showing the effects that they cause in their health.
