Resumen
Initially, the vehicles were driven by steam, electricity or fuel. Due to the development of the oil industry, gasoline-powered vehicles have dominated the market. Almost a century after being overcome by combustion engines models, the electric vehicles reappeared in the world automotive scene. Due to environmental awareness of the damage caused by oil burning on vehicles with internal combustion engines, the interest in the use of electric vehicles is growing. Add to this the question of unrestrained use of a fossil fuel, a non-renewable source of energy. In this sense, there is pressure for countries to adopt more sustainable practices with less impact on the environment. This work will analyze the feasibility of using an electric car in Brazil, the advantages and disadvantages of replacing cars with combustion engines and the challenges still to be faced in the country for the implementation of EVs. Finally, an economic feasibility analysis is carried out, which shows the current inviability of replacing conventional vehicles by electric models as a consequence of the high purchasing cost of EVs. However, it is believed that with the popularization of EVs, the increase in demand and mass production lead to a reduction in the cost of the vehicle, making possible the propagation of this technology.
