Hegemonia política e eleitoral do PSD em Frederico Westphalen (1945 - 1964)

Abstract

The present work refers to the policy and electoral disputes in Frederico Westphalen in a democratic and multipartisan period from 1945 to 1964. Such diputes had occurred around two politicians groups: one from PSD and another from PTB. As the politician group from PSD got victory in the local ballot boxes in all the elections carried through in different levels, the central question is to understand how it was constructed and how it was kept the hegemony on the others political parties. It realizes that the force of the PSD came from the relation of this with the local Church, in special Priest Vitor Battistela who influenced the faithful people through the pulpit and controlled some entities like school, hospital, radio and others associations. On the other hand PTB fortifies when appear entities that were out of control from the Church, like Collective, that consolidates the base petebista and threats the hegemony of PSD. This work is divided in three chapters: the first one approach the formation of the politician group around the local influential elements, the second refers the consolidation of the dominede group with detach of the church power, the third refers to the new politic and cultural phase arisen with the bracing antagonistic politician group joined with PTB. Inside this treat sobjects they are: the partisan formation of the one after 1945, colonialism aspects and politician clientelism, the local politics élite, Catholic Church and anti- comunism, political parties and elections, local politics history.
