dc.description.abstractThe Public Lighting (IP) should promote improvement of living conditions through the aid of police protection as a way to inhibit the crime, encouraging physical activity and life in society. However, you must obtain an efficient IP system that generates minimal environmental impacts and holds the lowest possible power consumption and still meet the regulatory NBR 5101: 2012. This paper presents the IP history and its main features, additionally this work has focused on the palms of IP, ie, the luminaires used in the city of IP (Lamp Beta with metallic steam lamps, luminaires with Tropic 400W sodium vapor lamps of 400W and LED Luminaire BBE LU6) In addition this work is done luminance tests between the types of luminaire / lamps besides studying the energy consumption between them, in addition to studying the feasibility of expanding the existing LED luminaire pilot project in LO-19 Avenue to the city of Palmas.
