Os principais desafios da gestão escolar democrática de uma escola pública do município de Farroupilha/RS: um estudo comparativo (2014/2018)

The present work seeks to present the research carried out in a Municipal School of Primary
Education in the Municipality of Farroupilha, referring to school management and the main
challenges present for a more democratic / participatory school management. The research
problem consisted in analyzing the organization of the school management in two different
moments, emphasizing the advances, highlighting the main challenges and succinctly
suggesting strategies based on authors such as Luck (2006, 2009, 2012, 2013), Paro (2001,
2006) and Libâneo (1994, 2015) on the subject. The problem that motivated the research in
this work was the need to understand more about democratic school management,
investigating the difficulties / challenges still existing in a municipal school, so that school
management in fact becomes more democratic / participatory. The methodology used was
research with a qualitative approach, using as sources of information: analysis of the Political
Pedagogical Project, observation of school daily life and use of bibliographic reference as a
way to complete the work. The school management that is desired must leave the paper and
enter schools and educational institutions, it is a social construction whose objective is the
formation of the integral human being, citizen participatory. The school manager in turn has
the role of encouraging and mobilizing the school community to achieve the defined
objectives, planning collectively for quality education.
