dc.description.abstract | Persistent right aortic arch (PRAA) is characterized by a congenital anomaly of the vascular ring that promotes extraluminal esophageal narrowing and hence partial esophageal dilation. The main clinical signs were regurgitation, difficulty breathing and weight loss. This change is rare in cats, only reported in Persian and Siamese. The objective is to report two cases successfully repared of persistent right aortic arch in two cats of undefined breed, from the same littermates and with 2 years old. Diagnostic was based with them history, clinical signs and barium swallow. Both was submitted to a conventional thoracotomy for resection of the arterial ligament and repair of esophageal stenosis. Addresses to any treatment since the establishment of diagnosis until now, with unusual evolution and remission of clinical signs. | |
