Relações familiares na perspectiva de rede de apoio social às pessoas ostomizadas em tratamento oncológico

Objective: to analyze the family in the perspective of a social support network for ostomized people on cancer treatment at a University Hospital in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul state. Method: a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. For the data collect collect a questionnaire was applied with questions about the sociodemographic characteristics and the identification of the family relationships of the ostomized person, focusing their role in the process of rehabilitation and adaptation to the ostomy. The sample is composed of 30 participants at a University Hospital in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul state from July to September 2017, the data were analyzed through SPSS® 21.0 and descriptive statistics through simple and absolute frequency. Results: evidenced the importance of the family understood in its different configurations, as social network, being these considered the main caregivers in the treatment process. In this sense, it is necessary to consider that the multiprofessional teams seek to recognize the fragilities and possibilities of these links, including to identified the implications by the accomplishment of an ostomy, which permeate the living conditions of the ostomy and its families. Final considerations: is recognized the importance of the family as a support network and the need for its integration into the therapeutic plan of the health teams and services, ensuring a humanized care and enabling improvement in the quality of life of the ostomy and family members.
