dc.description.abstractThis study aims to explore the Kawaii language as a form of expression. Originally from Japan brings the world of childhood references in their shapes, colors and themes. Kawaii is characterized as cute and can be translated by the word meigo in portuguese. Can be treated as a lifestyle that is gaining more fans, breaking the Asian borders. Thus, the research proposes the creation and development of prints and patterns with reference in Kawaii language. For a better understanding and knowledge of methods and processes in this paper a technical visit in a porcelain industry was performed. The project generated a set of utilities titled "Marina" composed of seven pieces of porcelain to Japanese cuisine. Kawaii characters were created in the language for the realization of the surface design applied to ceramic.
