Resumen
This work is a research about the media reception for working class women, which it was aimed at realizing the way News broadcasting, are appropriated by the receptors in accordance with the working classes and the sociocultural context. The objective is tocomprehend how the receptors constitute the representation of working class women classes from televisual text and based on the mediations of family and work. The analysis’s perspective is inspired in two authors from Latin-American cultural studies, and the categories used to the examination of uses from the News broadcasting are rituality and sociality (MARTÍN-BARBERO, 2002; 2003). The methods used with the four informants of the research were the Case Study (YIN, 2001) and the Text in Action (WOOD, 2008). The case study allowed one to describe the everyday experience of the informants through the interview’s techniques and the participant observation, while the text in action is through the interaction of them with the Jornal Nacional. The work and family mediations are crucial, since the assistance to the program is only possible through changes in those spheres. These mediations make possible the identification or strangeness of the working class women with the female representation on the news television, once they identify themselves with those working and mother figures on the television news report and they disapprove representations that escapes the respectability standard considered as appropriated to the womanhood and their class.
