dc.description.abstract | The presente research has as its theme “The Pedagogical Coordinator in School Management,” aiming at analyzing the function of the pedagogical coordinator in school management, its challenges and how pedagogical coordination takes place both in a private school and in a municipal school in Santo Ângelo/RS. First, the study The present research presents data on the democratization of school management and a historical analysis of the performance of the pedagogical coordinator professional in schools. The research methodology for this study took a qualitative approach, carrying out a case study by using a questionnaire as the instrument to collect data. This questionnaire was answered by two pedagogical coordinators, one active in a private school and another in a municipal school, in Santo Ângelo / RS. After analyzing the data, the study makes considerations about the function of the pedagogical coordinator within the context of democratic school management. The results point to the importance of the performance of this professional, in partnership with the school manager, mediating also the relationships that are established in educational institutions. Some challenges need to be overcome, among them the identity search by the pedagogical coordinators themselves on their role and also on the part of the school community in relation to this professional's performance. In the same way, it is concluded that democratic management, in practice, still needs great advances. | |
