dc.description.abstractThe world is undergoing major changes due to uncontrolled consumption and misuse of natural resources by the majority population. Faced with this situation, the growing concern about environmental issues and simultaneously mobilize various sectors of society in the pursuit of revitalization, improving the environment and quality of life for all. Thus, this project aims to understand, assess and develop focused on environ-mental education in teaching of elementary school science teaching practices. The research, characterized as action research involves the practice of recreational and educational activities in a class of twenty-one students of the 6th year of elementary school in State College Cerro Branco. This study is important to emphasize the need to offer a differentiated business linked to environmental education in formal educa-tion, where it can make the process of teaching-learning more attractive and enjoya-ble, besides arouse curiosity and critical thinking of students. As a result it is ob-served that the students understood the importance of being engaged citizens with environmental issues.
