Resumen
The aim of this study was to identify the knowledge of the managers about Acquired Brain Injury, how many and which types are served in the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Care services, the mechanisms of demand control and the instruments that support them for the care of users with Injury Acquired from a city in the central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. This is an exploratory and analytical-descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, carried out with 13 managers of the services that integrate the local health network. Data collection was done through a semi-structured interview, with questions related to managers' knowledge about Acquired Brain Injury, statistics, monitoring of service provision and instruments that support them. Data were analyzed by thematic content analysis technique. This study revealed incomplete conceptualizations on Acquired Brain Injury; priority service of people with cerebral vascular accident, followed by brain cranial trauma. Of the 11 services of medium technological density, nine mentioned that they do not have statistical data and demand monitoring. As for the use of operational protocols, low and high density managers have knowledge and use them in their services. Medium density managers do not use operational protocols, and most do not use internal routing protocols. There are clinics of higher education institutions that provide care to people with Acquired Brain Injury, but they act in a segregated way. Concluded that there are Conceptual, organizational and operational limitations of the care provided to users with Acquired Brain Injury.
