Resumen
This research was conducted during the Postgraduate Course in Educational
Management that seeks to analyze the educational management at the Police
Academy of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, covering the ideological aspects of the
educational philosophy used in this educational institution. In order to explain this
issue, we performed analysis of concepts of civilian police and civilian police, as its
Members, and presented a systematic study on the main theoretical categories that
guide police work, which are: Power, Authority, Discipline . Finally, we discussed how
to carry out educational administration, when the offer of regular education available
to the competition that aims to occupy a position in the Department of Justice and
Security, the State of Rio Grande do Sul, more precisely Chief of Police or Police
Agent (Registrar or Inspector of Police). Based on the data collected, there were
questions about the true role of the Civilian Police Academy, the power, authority and
discipline of the Civil Police, as well as the image that it conveys to society through
their actions, concluding that current civilian police of Rio Grande do Sul are
prepared or educated by a qualified agency, which has a faculty composed of
experts using the most appropriate pedagogy to train and enable police officers to
perform their functions with quality, while respecting the laws and homeland, thus
increasing each day, the good name of the institution civilian police.
