dc.description.abstractSoftware development in the country is constantly growing, which shows the importance of attending to the IT industry. Few studies explore cost involved in developing software, necessary resources, noncompliance, cost linked to failure repair. The study proposes as main aim the identification of rework costs in companies that develop software, and how much this cost impact on the end result of the project. To conduct the case study required mapping of software development processes, survey of costs involved in each stage, application of costing method based on activities and rework percentage for each phase. The study was conducted in a small business, software developer in central RS. The main contributions of this study is to identify the cost of each phase of software development, rework percentage of the project for each stage, and the cost attributed to this rework.
