Candidates to oral surgery often have abnormal arterial pressure due to previous systemic complications or experiences that cause them apprehension, fear and anxiety about the procedures that they will be realized. The use of antihypertensive medications should be known to the dentist. The use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory in post operative surgery may be also a change in blood pressure factor. Fear and anxiety during dental procedures has been alleviated pharmacologically through the use of anti-anxiety agents. Proper management of patients on the use of medications will be directly proportional to the knowledge of the dentist.
