Internet e educação: o que pensam os educadores

This article presents a study about the perception of educators, who are working at Elementary
School, about the Internet in the education. The objective of the work is to investigate the role and the
relevance of the Internet in education and in professional lives of educators, examining issues such as
access, use in the classroom and planning, contribution/irrelevance for the education, professional
actuation, teaching-learning process. This research presents a qualitative approach, with a descriptive
focus involving bibliographic research and using as technique of data collection, the questionnaire.
The research was developed with educators who act in different levels/years of Elementary School,
from public schools in the municipality of São Gabriel/RS. The results indicate that the Internet is used
by the educators, both in personal and professional sphere and that it is present in their planning. The
educators they also believe that the Internet can contribute to the education in order to facilitate the
process of teaching and learning. However, the use of this media in the classroom, in the practice of
educators, is not realized.
