Abstract

This research broached the information representation like a process that foments the access archival documents. The connection between the classification, description and indexing is analyzed too, by way of a case study. The importance of quality control in records management is evinced, jutting the information representation in archives. It has yet the purpose to develop a research about relevant issues for archival processing, access and information sharing, in order to contribute to knowledge from archival science. The indexing with quality control methodologies is a practice that enables the effective access to information in archives. The research is divided into following chapters: “Arquivos e Gestão de Documentos”; “Classificação arquivística e os desdobramentos de sua aplicação”; “Representação da informação em arquivos”; “Indexação no contexto arquivístico”; “Gestão da Qualidade e a indexação”; “Caso Petros: a representação da informação na área de previdência complementar”; and finally, the considerations from the author about the theoretical and practical aspects concerning this research.
