dc.description.abstractThe work that follows in the next part of the review pages of documents along with a reflection on the historiography of the Apprentice School War Arsenal Porto Alegre, in the early eighteen hundreds, specifically cut between 1860 and 1870. The aim is to investigate and understand the importance of this school in the power relationship between state and society that was then. Period in which Brazilian society was undergoing political, social and economic - as the strengthening of the abolitionist movement and the army was seeking a higher valuation, as well as the formation of national identity - this school sought to train and guide these children who form this new society.
