It was made a systematic review in the data base BVS, embracing the last 10 years, only in Portuguese, with key words and search strategy: Evidence nutrition, nutritional assessment and nutritional therapy, both in the elderly. We selected only the original studies and complete. The obtained information were ordered and classified after the reading and use of the found themes. The studies were presented in tables, including the year, the participants, the method, the intervention and the studied endings. Related to Nutritional Assessment in Elderly found 68 articles, 16 of these were excluded for being in different language, leaving 52 titles, these were selected after reading their summaries of 18 articles retrieved and used in full. However, evidence to the topics of nutrition and nutritional therapy was not used or a study because there were according to the methodological criteria. The studies were very heterogeneous, including controversial subjects such as food, long stay in an institution and its acceptability, nutritional and related diseases or co morbidities associated Anthropometric indicators and evaluation and use of a specific micronutrient. The anthropometric nutritional and other indicators are more favorable to diagnose nutritional risk. In this literature revision was not possible to provide enough evidences that permit to group information, due to the diversity of the present themes in the found studies. More researches are necessary, to bright questions and to draw guidelines to the focus of nutritional therapy in the elderly with associated morbidities.
