The present paper aims to discuss the possibility of reusing plastic bags and turn them into materials which promote the making of reusable bags through manual techniques, such as crochet. The goal of this paper is to look for the qualification of environmental multipliers, people able to raise others’ awareness about the importance of solid waste reuse through art. The theoretical background focuses on plastic bags and points out their contextualization, the environmental impacts owing to their improper disposal, their potential as products of creation in art and handicraft. Furthermore, environmental education is highlighted as a mediating instrument of the actions previously mentioned along these lines. In addition, the methodology presents reports of experiences about the workshop of returnable bags – these ones made of plastic bags by means of reusing – as well as it depicts the whole process of the suggested technique. The findings reveal possibilities of creation and transformation over plastic bags reuse.
