This study refers to a Conclusion Work of the Special Night Education Course of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). The present study concerns the importance of the identification of behaviors of high abilities / giftedness still in early childhood education so that it is possible to offer these children and their families the care and guidance necessary for their better development in all the scopes. Thus, this study aims to investigate whether the high abilities / giftedness behaviors in children in the Early Childhood Education of a Santa Maria / RS school network are recognized by their teachers seeking to know the children's schooling process and the challenges to their inclusion. This study was qualitative descriptive, including 1 teacher, 1 educator of a Municipal School of Early Childhood Education that participated in this research and answered a questionnaire. This is based on Joseph Renzulli Three Ring Theory and Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. As a result of the questionnaires analyzed, teachers feel unprepared to work with students with high abilities / giftedness, evidencing that they have a lot of theoretical knowledge about the subject, but in practice they are not implementing actions yet.
