A análise SWOT como ferramenta para o planejamento estratégico governamental na área da saúde

Abstract

In the health sector, the strategic planning aims to define guidelines, goals and targets for provision of actions and quality public services to citizens. The administrative tool called SWOT Analysis assists and provides information of situational analysis, considering the strengths and weaknesses of the internal environment and opportunities and threats in the external environment of institutions.The objective of this article was to analyze the use of this tool in institutions in the area of health. This study was carried out by means of a bibliographic research, during the month of July 2014, using electronic journals, such as the magazines SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS (Latin American Literature in Health Sciences) and CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) and platforms online university.It was possible to identify the lack of publications on studies of the use of the tool in the area of health, since they were identified 07 (seven) work that addressed the theme of this study.It was possible to identify the lack of publications on studies of the use of the tool in the area of health, since they were identified 07 (seven) work that addressed the theme of this study. However, it has been identified that there are already cases of institutionalization of the planning and the success of SWOT Analysis to obtain information to guide the preparation and formatting of strategic planning.
