dc.description.abstractIntroduction: The new health practices required to qualify the Health System are strongly influenced by management processes. The Multidisciplinary Residency in Health is characterized by being a formation that is intended to accommodate the axis articulating the Health System Objectives: To grasp the concept of health professionals, residents of the Multidisciplinary Residency Program in Health, about the Public Management Process Mental health services in the municipality they are located and understand the influence of the management process of mental health services in the training of resident professionals Multidisciplinary Residency Program in Health. Method: This is a research with qualitative and descriptive approach, held with 13 professionals residents of the Multidisciplinary Residency Program in Health in Mental Health. Data collection occurred through semi-structured interviews, from August to September 2015 was used for the analysis of data the operative proposal for thematic analysis. The ethical principles of research with human beings were respected, according to Resolution No. 466/12 of the National Health Council. Results and discussion: From the empirical data of the research, it emerged two categories for analysis. They highlight the importance of the health manager has knowledge related to mental health and the policies that govern it as well as the needs of service. Note the importance of dialogue and support the forward management to mental health services as well as the co-management processes. It is noted discrepancies in the statements of professionals residing opposite influence on their education, related to the management in mental health, but for some there was learning other expanded bring the lack of learning and experience related to management of mental health services. Conclusion: The management involves directly into the team's work processes and resident professionals in mental health services where they live. The Multidisciplinary Residency in Health plays an important role across the Public Health management and contributes to the training of professionals to work in the field of mental health.
