dc.description.abstractThis paper seeks to understand how the event management, combined with the precepts of the cultural economy, may assist in the economic development of 30 traditionalists regions from the MovimentoTradicionalistaGaúcho (MTG), besides the city of Santa Cruz do Sul. The specific objectives are: understanding the management of major regional events; the appointment of nativist music festivals of Rio Grande do Sul, in order to understand how they work the regional culture; and finally, verifying the communication strategies and organization of the ENART (Encontro de Arte e TradiçãoGaúcha). The methodology of qualitative type with descriptive and interpretive method of data collectedwas used. The research techniques used werea documentary analysis, non-participant observation and interviews. The result of this work showed thatfor the ENART be an event that leverage the economy of Santa Cruz city and the 30 regions traditionalists, the event management strategies should be consistent with the economy of culture issues, which does not happens, as the organization of the event has no claim innovation.
