dc.description.abstract | This work discusses the results of research into the performance and the challenges
of school management in public schools, before the presence of psychoactive
substances among young people of school age. The survey sought to know how the
school managers plan and implement activities which contribute to minimize this
problem and its consequences. The methodological procedures adopted in
anticipation of a qualitative approach, have been the case study on the subject,
considering the analysis of the school's documentation and data gathering via
questionnaire opened with managers. It was noted that the management of the
schools participating in the study is based on a traditional model, which centralizes
policy decisions in the team, leaving the teacher's responsibility to plan and teach the
classes, which makes this not feel Manager of the educational process. In this
scenario, the activities are carried out in isolation and, consequently, stumble into
obstacles that could be minimized if the work was collective. Although the presence
of psychoactive substances is a social problem that worries teachers / managers, it is
perceived that activities are carried out separately for those who feel able, or those
who, while not dominating the subject in a profound way, believe in the need to
position themselves. In this context, the practice continued training involving the
subject in question, as the exercise of a democratic management are seen as
essential in order to obtain significant results, when the subject involves moving
young people's desire for rapprochement at to psychoactive substances. | |
