Resumen
With this study, the investigation of the actions of the Brazilian Movement of Dam-Affected (MAB) at the Dona Francisca Hydroelectric Power Plant (UHDF) was pursued. The construction of hydroelectric power plants meets society's demand for electric power, but, on the other hand, the flooding of many areas occurs, expelling thousands of people affected by the ventures. With its fight, MAB has sought the use of new political models for the expropriation of land, fairer monetary compensations and a "cleaner" energy production. The History of the movement was marked by the resistance to vacate the areas and targets an energetic policy that attends the needs of the population without affecting a minority. Because of this context, the present monographic study proposes to investigate the implementation process of UHDF (1999-2001) and the expropriation and monetary compensation process of the affected by the reservoir, by means of a popular organization led by MAB. To achieve the goals of the research, bibliographic and field research were used, through semi-structured oral interviews, which significantly contributed to the goals of the research.
