Contrarreferência: desafio para efetivação da integralidade na assistência a usuários com câncer de cabeça e pescoço

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the counter- reference system in health and disease process in the perception of carriers users of Cancer of the Head and Neck and, draft a roadmap care that includes actions to effectuate the counter- reference. This is a qualitative and descriptive research. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with 15 users after surgical treatment of head and neck cancer at the University Hospital of Santa Maria-RS. It is possible to identify that counter- reference is inefficient as the continuity of care has fragmented flows, with shortcomings highlighted by the lack of communication between the levels of attention, lack of bond and autonomy of users and retention of users at the tertiary level. It is proposed in this study an overhaul in the integration mechanism of counter-reference among health care levels.
