dc.description.abstractThis monograph behind the development of a collection of prints referenced in the culture of the Mapuche ethnic group, located in southern Chile and Argentina, these prints, applied to textile surfaces in the form of women's blouses. References were taken starting at crucial elements of the culture of this people that is their craft, and that divided this work in her jewelry and her loom. For this we carried out a historical overview about this culture, their tradition, their way of life and customs. Discussed are still concepts related to fashion trends and collection development. Later a study was done on the surface design – main subject of this project – vlinking the two issues. Soon after it began to be developed the creative process through all material collected for this. The prints were digitally developed and the creative process was based on symbols found in ponchos and tracks, and jewels worn by women of this ethnic group. The pieces in the collection were produced in cetin and chiffon, these chosen by the lightness and trim that give products and stampings were made through sublimation.
