dc.description.abstractThe ways in which we construct our representations in relation to gender and sexuality are intimately tied to the social relations that establish the institutions we attend and / or share their assumptions and also to cultural artifacts that we have access. That said, seeing movies as a cultural artifact that produces meaning and significance permeated in power relations, the main challenge was to work on representations that / the academics of Physical Education building in relation to gender and sexuality from movies that address these issues. For this research was done a focus group with seven students of Physical Education. To analyze the data we used content analysis to be based on systematic and objective procedures to describe the content of the messages. Given this, what can be concluded is that the representations of gender and sexuality academics are very close to a standard referent, before it be man or woman, to be consistent according to what is expected of a man or heterosexual male woman heterosexual female.
