Uso das tecnologias na educação superior presencial e a distância: a visão dos professores

It is possible to recognize in the technologies a formative potential which may contribute to
expansion of the educational spaces and pedagogical time, to curriculum relaxation, to improve the
interaction between teacher-students and students-teachers both in presential learning as in
distance learning. From this idea, I aimed to investigate how the use of technologies applied to
presential graduation and distance learning occurs, under the professor´s view. This work had a
qualitative approach and the data were collected through an online questionnaire with twenty-two
teachers, who work both in presential graduation and distance learning. The data were collected
through the content analysis. Some of the results: all teachers use technology in their work, some
more frequently and diversified; others not so often; some technologies are more used in presential
education, others used in distance learning; most of the teachers are able to use Information and
Communication Technology applied to education; it was meaningful the indicator that shows the
lack of teachers training for using technologies; the use of moodle, the internet, and e-mail were
highlighted; most of the teachers recognized the differences in using presential education an
distance learning, and this is because several reasons; the teachers say that using technologies it
brings advantages, they recognize some disadvantages, too, and most of them believe that technologies stimulate learning.
