dc.description.abstractWhat makes a student with broader knowledge is to offer different methods than those that are worked day-today in the classroom. This article reports the work carried out in the discipline of Chemistry in two high school series at the state school in the city of Itaqui, using the media in the form of video lessons to improve students' learning, clarifying the content about the separations and fractionation of the homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures of the discipline. It was verified through a discursive evaluation that many students were deficient in learning, when teachers are guided to transmit knowledge only through the textbook. After viewing the video lessons, the students were evaluated again, so they were asked to identify the homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures, in order to present concepts, examples of each process of separation of the mixtures related to the content worked and a satisfactory yield was verified in relation to the previous evaluation. Class 104: Bad concept- reduction of 4.35%, Regular – reduction of 6.52%, Good - increase of 6.52% and in Great - increase of 4.35% of yield. Class 105: Bad - reduction of 2.85%, Regular – reduction of 5.72%, Good - increase of 5.71% and in Great - increase of 2.86%. It is considered very important to apply this method of work in order to contribute to a precise and effective learning using the media.
