dc.description.abstractThe spaces of technological advances require competent people with knowledge and critical understanding of reality. Requirements that are related to the mastery of writing, reading and new technologies so they can have a good professional and social activities. However, because of that situation, have- if deficiencies in meeting these social requirements. Given this reality, the Youth and Adult Education - EJA intended to people with lag educated knowledge or are completely illiterate. This research aimed to analyze the look of educational managers on the EJA in State Public Schools in Santa Maria - RS. Therefore, we sought a brief historical review of adult education in Brazil, the analysis of Project Political three State Public Schools Santa Maria-RS, besides the use of questionnaires to managers of education on methods, programs, practices adopted, and difficulties. The work provided some thoughts such as: everyone can and should contribute to the development of adult education; governments must implement integrated policies for adult education; schools need to develop an appropriate design for your students and not ready following models; teachers need to update and adapt their knowledge and teaching methods and students need to value the opportunity to study and extend their knowledge.
