Resumen
Quality management is a continuous process adopted by organizations in search for excellence and comprehends all the organization actions so as to manage their processes and activities. Quality management may be achieved by implementing requirements defined by ABNT ISO standards. It is strongly based on documentation and its execution involves information and document control systems aiming to speed up and optimize the access to and processing of that information as well as the organization workflow. Based on that context, the present work deals with the insertion of elements of the policies for archival information management concerning activities related to quality management. We sought to investigate the archival management elements in the scope of quality management and its contextualization, with emphasis on the implementation and execution processes, in order to demonstrate the close relation between the quality management systems described on the ABNT ISO Standards and the archival information management. We verified the repercussion of the archival practices as well as the archivist actuation, which contributes to the quality management due to the professional's practical experience and knowledge. This work was elaborated through documental and literature research and presents, as its main result, the unquestionable contribution of the archival information management and, therefore, of the archivist to the success of quality in the organizations.
