As políticas públicas de educação ambiental no município de Santa Maria/RS

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the existence of public policies on environmental education in the municipality of Santa Maria / RS. To carry out from goal, we used the monographic and comparative methods in order to define the environmental education and its importance in the development of individuals, to study the rules on the subject and to establish whether the actions in the city are in accordance with the legal system. Before tackling the issue of environmental education, its characteristics and legislation on the subject, we seek to highlight the importance of environmental protection. The work is divided into three chapters. In the first, it’s studied the historical evolution of environmental education, training of environmental awareness. In the second chapter studies the federal environmental legislation, state and local, together with the duties and environmental education rights. In the third chapter we study the laws and municipal public policies on environmental education, as well as its adaptation to the national legal system. In conclusion, we highlight the importance of environmental education to sensitize the school community and society in general about the preservation of nature, to maintain quality of healthy life for all individuals.
