This research is directed to the relationship between management and democratic
participation of the school community, based on the precepts education proposed in the Federal
Constitution of 1988, as well as in Law Guidelines for National Education (LDBN 9.394 / 96), on
democratization education. In this sense, the objective was to conduct a study on the
democratization of school management, based on the participation and commitment of faculty,
staff, students and parent: understanding the benefits and lines of action for the construction and
development of democratic practice in school Basic; know and understand how the democratic
management occurs in public school, based on the sharing of decisions and actions by the
political-pedagogical school community. To meet these goals, we chose to develop a case study
with a qualitative approach, which was applied questionnaire with open questions to members of
a State Primary School Redeemer / RS. Looking at the reality of the school researched and
analyzing the contributions of those surveyed, regarding the propositions of this research, it was
found that both staff policy as the school community need to better understand the precepts of
educational management, in particular those related will democratization of basic school .
Advocates the importance of the school community, in general, undertake and be cognizant of the
principles and mechanisms of democratic management. Therefore, it is up to the management
team assume participatory-democratic role and therefore joint administrative and pedagogical
practices of the school community who are anchored in the collective and participatory work.
