Resumen
This paper presents a theory of meaningful learning of David Ausubel, the cognitive processes that involve the acquisition of new concepts in the form of concept maps. After the emergence of the theory of meaningful learning, Joseph Novak proposes the construction of maps to materialize theory of Ausubel. The development of conceptual maps is a process related to the knowledge acquired by the author, depends on the objective to be achieved and the ability to externalize the knowledge already internalized. Thus, there are various types of maps, which have advantages and disadvantages in their construction. This study aimed to analyze concept maps of 30 students, the course of specialization in Information Technology and Communication Applied to Teaching, in the form of distance education, Federal University of Santa Maria. The maps were drawn here seem through software CmapTools - Concept Map Editor - a free app available on the internet. The maps were analyzed considering the four types of maps that will be addressed as well as the processes that involve the construction of knowledge significantly, according to the precepts of Ausubel. The development of this work has helped understand the importance of theory Ausubel in the learning process, and it can be seen that the concept maps can be used for many different areas of knowledge and can vary their style of structuring, according to the objective and knowledge of the author about what it intends to demonstrate.
