Due to factors such as the popularization of personal computers and internet access, self-publishing, considered an old story in this book practice, was reconfigured and enhanced by factors such as the democratization of production tools. Allied to these new forms of production, is the emergence of crowdfunding platforms that enabled for independent authors to raising funds for the production of intellectual content. So the question that guided this work was based on the investigation of the functions which are aggregated to this new independent author of the book supply chain. Thus, this study was defined methodology case study of the book Ryotiras Omnibus and a semi-structured interview with the author, for the successful fulfillment of the proposed objectives. Finally, we note that the author combines the functions of a literary agent, publisher, manager of marketing and sales, as well as becoming responsible for storage and also for distribution.
