The shock is a medical condition caused by the deficiency or the inability of tissues to use oxygen. Much has evolved over many mediators involved in this syndrome, allowing orientation in the treatment and increase the chance of survival. The hypovolemic shock is the manifestation of tissue hypoperfusion due to severe hypovolemic, which results in cellular hypoxia. The most frequent cause is bleeding,
more acute loss of plasma water and electrolytes are also causes of this outbreak. The expansion of blood volume through the fluid is the main goal in the treatment. The objective of this review is to bring relevant information about the solutions most used in veterinary medicine to restore the patient's blood volume in the context of hypovolemic shock.
