dc.description.abstractIndividuals with special needs are characterized by impairments have long, medium and / or short-term physical, intellectual, mental or sensory impairment, can not exert its full social participation. Given this, we highlight the importance of discussing the reflections on this approach becomes evident issues that govern our existence in society. In this context the present study has as objective to know what are the public policy of inclusion of individuals with special needs in Rio Grande do Sul, through a literature review on the basis of data from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) on words keys: public policy and inclusion as well as the relationship between the themes in the period 2007 to 2011.Were used as inclusion criteria to abstracts contemplated intersectoral policies and individuals with special needs (IEN) as a subject. About this research, found none of the 240 abstracts included the inclusion criteria, therefore, an approximation was made of NSA with regulations, ordinances and laws as it becomes apparent lack of publications on this subject. Therefore, knowledge is an effective way for the development and restructuring of new laws and decrees that may accommodate the NSA in defense of their physical and moral integrity, as well as those that ensure universal access and comprehensive care of this uniqueness of individuals.
