Resumen
In this work are presented measurements of the electron temperature in the HII region 30 Doradus derived from the [OIII](λ4959 + λ5007)/λ4363 ratio. Long-slit spectrophotometric data of high signal-to-noise, in the range of 3800 to 5100 Å, were obtained with a Boller & Chivens spectrograph attached to the 1.52 m telescope of the European Southern Observatory, La Silla, Chile. The data reduction and analysis procedure was done using the IRAF software. The temperature was obtained in 140 apertures, each one corresponding to 2 00 × 1.64 00 on the plane of sky. The electron temperature distribution presented a Hβ flux weighted mean of 9880 ± 19K, a dispersion of 225 K and a variance relative to the mean of t 2 s (OIII) = 0.00025. Despite this value is in agreement with the photoionization models it is insufficient to explain the discrepancy between the abundances found by recombination and collisionally excited lines.
