This paper aims at analyzing the design of interdisciplinary educational action
- A light at the end of the tunnel - which works in favor of safeguarding historical
documents from the Lower Carboniferous Jacuí region, involving the school
community of the Institute Federal Sul Rio-Grandense - Campus Charqueadas (IFSul).
To do so, through a literature review, which focuses on questions about the
universe of equity in educational activities and methodology of heritage education,
and a systematic observation and participant as a result were able to pinpoint the
importance of educational work around the issue of equity as an alternative to coal
community awareness regarding the preservation of their cultural heritage, especially
the documentary. The proposal is justified, especially for the urgent need to offer
educational activities that can reverse the risk in relation to the possible loss of the
documentary collection of ancient Consortium Administrator of Mining Companies
(CADEM) taking this way for its proper preservation and access. The concepts of
public policy, heritage, heritage education, heritage and educational activities to
assist in preserving this research and further the reach of its goal.
