The aim of this study was to understand how the Physical Education and the Project contribute and / or influence the construction of identity of students with physical disabilities. This study was characterized by being a descriptive qualitative research in the form of case study. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire with open questions that were directed to the following topics: a) self-awareness and recognition of the handicapped condition before the current society; and, b) perspectives on the experiences in Physical Education and a artistic and educational Project. The interpretation of the data was from the triangulation method. Participated in the study a student of an Extension Project of the Federal University of Santa Maria, the Extremus, which also regularly attends school and Physical Education. From the analysis of the subject's answers we can conclude that it is imminent the need for discussion and reflection about the training of professionals involved in the promotion of the inclusion process. From the findings concerning the form of organization of a project, where everything that is done is thought social equality, we realized that the inclusion is closer to happen. Therefore, the organization and preparation of the individuals involved in the inclusive process is critical. Attitudinal change in any medium involving the educational system and social ties networks is required.
